tony and mary ann mancino

It all started when…

Tony Mancino was born in Vietri di Potenza, Italy where everyone grew up learning a trade. He apprenticed with several master tailors in Turin and Florence who taught him the old world techniques of pattern making and custom tailoring. Everything was done by hand. He settled in Prato, north of Florence, which is known for textiles and cloth production. Tony boarded the Leonardo DaVinci and immigrated to Canada to work with his older brother who had a tailoring business in Toronto, Ontario. The brothers traveled the United States and Canada with George Y. Allen and Company before settling in Oklahoma City, where Tony opened his own custom tailoring business at the age of 28 years old. The oil boom and growth of the Southwest helped launch a thriving career that lasted 17 years.

After relocating to Larchmont, New York with his wife, Mary Ann, Tony opened his own business on Palmer Avenue. After 5 years he doubled his space, enabling him to carry more clothing and accessories as well as displaying his custom cloths and fabric samples. The location has proven a perfect fit and has served as an integral part of the community since opening in 1986.

Customers commute from New York City and the Tri State area for his expertise and knowledge in the field of textiles and tailoring. Celebrities and sports figures patronize Mancino Tailors & Clothiers not only because of the specialized customer service but the selection of clothing and fabrics.

“I personally fit and measure every customer who walks through the door. My understanding of the trade is directly passed on to you and I will guide you to develop your unique style.”
